Set deep in the heart of 1940s Texas, this well crafted farce introduces us to the owners of the Double T Ranch, a wealthy Texan couple who want to “toughen up” their 25-year-old nephew on holiday from New York. A secret visit to the seedy Casablanca Hotel sets the stage ablaze with jealousy and distrust, and generates a hilarious evening of great music and Texas-sized laughs.

The two-act opera by American composer Thomas Pasatieri, sung in English, relates a comic tale of love and mistaken identity. Loosely based on A Flea in her Ear by Gorges Feydeau, The Hotel Casablancafollows the antics of Tom and Callulah Carter, owners of the Double T Ranch, whose interactions with hotel guests result in a series of misunderstandings and betrayals. The enchanting music is a perfect balance of wit, charm, beauty, and passion.
