Inspired by the life and work of Audre Lorde, world-renowned performance poetry duDominique Christina & Denice Frohman write and perform their “otherness” into the center and use spoken word as a tool for social change.

The award-winning poetry duo, Sister Outsider, have performed at over 90 colleges, universities, and community spaces across the country. Both Women of the World Poetry Slam Champions, Dominique Christina & Denice Frohman travel extensively to introduce students to the wider function of language and art as activism.

A former Olympic Volleyball star, Christina holds master’s degrees in English literature and Education, and she is the author of three collections of poetry, most recently This Woman’s Work (2015).

Frohman is the recipient of grants from the National Association of Latino Arts & Cultures Fund and CantoMundo, and she was named a Top 20 Emerging LGBT Leader by the Philadelphia Gay Newspaper.
