Exchange old jeans for new at #SalemOR Public Library’s blue jean swap

Back-to-School Blue Jean Swap/Upcycling Craft
11 a.m-1 p.m. Saturday, September 3
Anderson Rooms A&B

Keeping growing kids in pants that fit is a challenge for all parents. To keep those perfectly good, but way-too-small blue jeans out of the Dumpster, Salem Public Library and Marion County Environmental Services are partnering to produce a blue-jeans swap.

Drop off clean, out-grown blue jeans of all sizes at Salem Public Library service desks starting August 16, and receive a credit for every pair donated. The “store” will open at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3 in Anderson Rooms A&B. Donors can exchange their credits for jeans that fit. To add to the fun, a blue jean upcycling craft and refreshments will also be provided.

This event is just one of a series of programs associated with a travelling exhibit, Thinking Money, that will be on display at Salem Public Library throughout September. Thinking Money isdesigned to teach tweens, teens and the adults in their lives about about financial topics like saving, spending, and avoiding fraud. Thinking Money was created by the American Library Association (ALA) in partnership with the FINRA Investor Education Foundation.
