#SalemOR Strategic Plan Community Open House – Jan. 31st

Date: Tuesday, January 31, 5-6:30 PM
Location: Broadway Commons, Grant Room
1300 Broadway St NE

The City of Salem is undertaking a strategic plan to articulate the mission, vision, values, and goals for the organization to help the City sustain delivery of core services as the community and the organization grow and change.

Stakeholder engagement is a critical part of this effort. The City of Salem is asking big questions as part of a strategic planning process and we’d like your help. Please join us for the first of two community open houses on January 31, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Broadway Commons in the Grant Room.

What to Expect?

Participants will be presented with some initial findings from the first phase of the Strategic Planning effort, the Situation Assessment. This work will chart a course, in a transition plan, for the City moving forward based on findings from an assessment of current conditions in our community, impacts of anticipated change in the region, and perspectives of residents, community leaders, and elected officials. Following the brief presentation at feedback stations, participants will be asked to weigh in on some ideas for actions the City may take to address challenges and opportunities facing the City.

Questions before then? Contact Courtney Knox Busch at 503-540-2426 or cbusch@cityofsalem.net.
Look for more in March 2017.

  1. I am interested in hearing this city projection, especially as how “Marine Drive” in West Salem may involve the destruction of a part of the historic Union Street Bridge Trestle and the intrusion of a commercial highway into Wallace Park property.
