Exhibit – Kitsuke: The Art of Wearing Kimono – in #SalemOR

Kitsuke: The Art of Wearing Kimono

Translated simply as a “thing to wear”, the kimono is so much more!

Come explore the art and craftsmanship of the iconic Japanese garment and learn the secrets of kitsuke.

We’d like to thank the Reed Opera House, Yamasa, Masaaki & Kaoru Moriya, Carol Suzuki and Brian Clem, John Schoon, Marisa Newnam, and Gretchen Coppedge for their generous support.

This exhibit was guest curated by Mako Hayashi-Mayfield with support from Kathy Andreas, Gretchen Coppedge, Takako Elting (Traditions by Takako), Misao Sundahl, Akiko Suzuki. Terry Baxter, Takako Masuyama, Hiroko Newman, and Susan Turner
