David Lay and The Great American Solar Eclipse at #SalemOR Downtown Book Bin – Aug. 4th

The Great American Solar Eclipse

with David Lay

Friday, August 4, 2017 | 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (?)Solar_eclipse_1999_4_NR

Salem Downtown Book Bin

The Book Bin’s own David Lay will be talking about August’s total solar eclipse.

We’ll also have books on the subject and hope to have eclipse viewing glasses on hand for purchase as well.

Here’s a little bit about David: Aristotle tells us that philosophy begins with wonder and David Lay has been following that wonder for most of his life. While working on trying figure out the workings of the interior of stars, in pursuit of a degree in physics, he took small groups of people out to see such planetary objects as Haley’s comet. While finishing his degree he, by chance, walked into a philosophy department one day and found a different way to pursue wonder by teaching philosophy at Oregon State University and other places.
