Catholics, people of faith, and the public in Marion and Polk counties are invited to a Simple and Delicious Soup Supper.

Sponsored by Oregonians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (OADP), this event will focus on Catholic teachings in regard to the American death penalty.

The keynote speaker will be Becky O’Neil McBrayer, a member of the OADP board of director and murder victim family member. Becky is an outspoken opponent of the death penalty in spite of the tragedy she and her family have endured.

The program will be hosted by former Oregon Supreme Chief Justice Paul DeMuniz. Queen of Peace Pastor Father Tim Mockaitis will comment on Catholic teachings on the death penalty.

Dinner will begin following the Queen of Peace 5 PM Saturday mass, catered by prize-winning chef Elias Torres. Tickets are only $10 each. One or more eight-person table sponsorships are encouraged.

Tickets can be purchased by phone at (503) 990-7060 or online at oadp.org.
