Salem has seen strongly-contested races for mayor in recent years and this is no different. This is your opportunity to see the candidates up close and judge how the address matters facing the community.
Chris Hoy is the current mayor, seeking a second term.
Julie Hoy, a local restaurateur, is serving on the Salem City Council. The Hoys are not related. Eiffler-Rodriguez, making his first run for public office, is a customer representative for a heating contracto
Free tickets are needed and are available online.
The debate is sponsored by Salem Reporter and the Salem City Club. Two journalists from Salem Reporter and a representative of the City Club will pose questions to the candidates with follow-ups as necessary.
The city of Salem, Oregon, is holding a general election for mayor on November 5, 2024. A primary is scheduled for May 21, 2024.
